Vacation Madness

WOO HOO an internet connection. I’m bouncing around for joy. I’ve been on a vacation which has seriously made me know that I’m a city girl.

So, Last Thursday we left home and ended up at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on Friday. We wandered around for a bit then drove over to Bryce canyon and went camping for the first time in my life. I loved it, I did mess up a bit on setting up the tent, but there were NO bugs and life was good .
The next morning we went down into the canyon and I went on a 4 mile hike, It was exhausting, I guess I need to exercise more, or at least in altitude. After that we drove to Yellowstone and by that time I was really getting sick of being in a car. We rented a cabin for the night, instead of pitching another tent because it was soaking wet out. Stupid rain :: pout ::
Anyway so the next day we went into the park and saw lots of trees and I went on a horsey ride. I swear that thing knew how to control me better that I could possibly control it. Luckily some nice man who knew how to ride horses was on the one behind me and kept telling me helpful hints on how to get the horse to move. Well after I walked three quarters of a mile back from the stables I just kinda collapsed.
The next day we went on an all day bus tour of Yellowstone. I swear you can get more leg cramps sitting on a buss all day than you can get walking around all day. So we saw a lot of bison, deer, and elk. We also saw a golden eagle, some fish and pelicans that were fishing the trout we saw.
Lots of trees. There were so many trees and they were all Lodgepole pines. What a boring tree, it looks like a badly made fake Christmas tree. And we did see some hot springs and geysers and mudpots and steam vents. The mudpots were the niftiest. I liked those it made the day worth it. We also went to the “grand canyon” which is supposed to look like the regular grand canyon, but it doesn’t. we did see old faithful but it wasn’t very awe inspiring, I think I enjoyed looking at lunch much more.
The next day we went to this Hot springs place we could swim in. It was GOOD, The water was nice and warm and the pool was huge so we could spread out and have fun. It wasn’t chlorinated either.
After that we woke up late, went for a trek across the Mammoth Hot Springs area then went to lunch, Had nummy food and went to a rive to paint. I got attacked by bugs and then spent the rest of the day in a huffy fit.
Yesterday we managed to drive 13 hours to get to the middle of Nowhere Oregon, the place is DESOLATE. We did start in Wyoming, went through a corner of Montana, crossed all of Idaho and stopped mid Oregon. There was a hot springs there too. We had to go for a dip. This morning we finished the rest of our way to here  and as we drove Rout 66, I felt like we were on a rollercoaster, the road is just so windey but we didn’t have half the protection so it was a little more nerve racking. Anywhoo, a fawn did run into the side of our car. Scared the willeys out of us.

So that’s my rant, I’m sticking too it.
